I'm back from EarthDance 2008, also known as "The 1960s revived."

I can assure everyone that the hippies are alive and well.

The music was incredible, the people were interesting and passionate, and the weather was absolutely perfect. I think I was completely enveloped in the experience, because for the most part, I didn't bathe, change clothes, eat, or sleep the entire time I was there. That seemed to be the case with everyone there, though. You know... all those dirty smelly hippies all getting together and doing stuff.

Had a lot of problems and issues between myself and lilyth_lindorie. Lots of conflict between what we were looking for at the festival. We wound up having to spend most of the festival separated, because she and I were looking for such drastically different experiences there. I think this solution worked out for both of us, though, because we both had a pretty good time, for the most part.

Although it was good, the music wasn't really my style but I don't feel like that was really the focus here. It was about the vibe and the people and the energy, not the music for me. At Faerieworlds, it was about the music. I was there to listen and dance. At EarthDance, I was there to share in the spirit of the whole thing and talk hippie-babble with people. The music was just a backdrop for it all.

And oh, did I meet some incredible people. I discussed life, the universe, and everything with a whole range of different types of people and loved every minute of it. I had some very powerful revelations and made some awesome new friends and contacts.

I was so in love with the entire universe. I was worshipping the moon, the sky, the earth, the river. I really was allowing all of it to fill my senses and just drinking it all in. Apparently, I was spouting such passionate and powerful hippie-babble about being one with the universal and feeling the energy of all of the world flowing through me that I inspired someone to go on a spirit journey while they were at the festival. :)

Overall, good stuff, and a powerful experience. It's going to take me some time to really parse through all this and really grok the whole thing.
